Our Internal Make Up

We as human beings have a mind that comprises of two components or spheres that make up our brain. That is the conscious and the subconscious mind to put simply. Like two sides of a coin, night and day and long and short. They are the duality of the mind but are opposites. There are also some studies to indicate that there is the super conscious mind as well which will take us to another realm.

My interest lie with the mind which is built with these two components or spheres possessing two different and distinctive characteristics which is known to both men and women in our society today. Each are assigned a mission to which is different to each other.

Sometimes to distinguish the two functions of the mind, the conscious is usually objective and the subconscious is subjective. The waking, the reasoning, the surface self and the voluntary mind are all used to describe the conscious mind. You make decisions with your conscious mind. The sleeping mind the deep self or involuntary mind are all used to describe the subconscious mind. All other functions that operate automatically for example the heart, digestion, circulation and breathing are carried out by the subconscious mind and independent of the conscious mind.


The conscious mind is like the pilot or commander at the bridge of a ship. He directs the ship and gives orders to his men in the engine room, who in turn control all the boilers, instruments and gauges. His crew carries out his orders without question. The commander is the master of the vessel and his orders are carried out. Similarly, the conscious mind is the commander of the vessel, which represents the body, surroundings and all its interaction. The subconscious mind takes the instructions you give it based upon what your conscious mind believes and accepts to be true.

The subconscious mind carries out its instructions as we intend it. Care must be taken with our belief system. For example if we continually say to someone, “I haven’t enough money,” then the subconscious mind takes what you have said as an order and sees that you will not have any money to buy anything. If you persist in that thinking in the same way, then it will be so and you will go through life experiencing not having any money.

You see every thought creates a cause that develops a situation that leads to an effect. So you the reader I ask you to think carefully about your thoughts. Think of attractive conditions and outcomes.

When the mind thinks properly, there is understanding of the truth; the thoughts placed in the subconscious mind are positive, pleasant and calm, the enchanting effective power of the subconscious will reply in kind and bring about the changes you desire. When you start to direct your thought process, you can apply the powers of the subconscious to any dilemma or intricacy. It has the answer to all problems. In other words, you will actually be consciously co-operating with the immeasurable authority and supreme law which rule all things. Knowledge of the interaction of the conscious and subconscious mind will enable you to transform your whole life. Alter your beliefs and alter your future.
